There are few times I find photographs fail me. On the high plains of Wyoming is one of them. Try as I might the endless horizon and grass which bows only to the rising mountains, my usual tools failed me.

Over the course of two summers, I documented the high plains of southeastern Wyoming through simple drawings, and sketches. A pedestrian effort at best, these field notes did little more than the vacant pictures to describe this place I had called home for some time.

Camping one night, thinking about the sheer distances between towns, I saw the light form Cheyenne coming over the hill. In that moment I decided to use my notes to create cameraless images of the high plains. Ones which reveal the awe I felt in that place. What followed was a series of chemigrams based upon the landscape of the high plains.
